Multiple districts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania face problems with vacant housing. Housing steadily increased during Philadelphia’s industrial revolution and later declined due to economic and manufacturing downturns. With the decrease in manufacturing came an exodus of population, which resulting in mass housing vacancies. In some neighborhoods entire blocks have been left abandoned. The buildings convey a story of isolation and economic inequality ironically surrounded by a city full of life.
