Union Labor

American trade labor has been in a state of decline since the late 1980’s. Numerous architectural achievements would not have been possible without skilled tradesmen and women. These images show sheet metal workers, iron workers, welders, and electricians building large structures in NYC and Philadelphia. The collective craft of constructing buildings comes with a true sense of camaraderie and pride. Union labor is essential to the lasting stability of these industries and standardizes safe work environments.
